Earlier this year, IndyCar driver Simona De Silvestro sat down in the NEI studio to discuss her involvement with the Nuclear Clean Air Energy campaign. She emphasized the passion, innovation and results-oriented approach found in both racing and the nuclear energy industry. De Silvestro also spoke about the importance of promoting STEM education and nuclear energy to students around the country. The 19-year-old Simona de Silvestro was fresh from winning the Atlantic Championship season opener in Long Beach, Ca., driving the sleek, 300 horsepower Swift 016, powered by a modified Cosworth engine. Simona De Silvestro , driver of the NEI-sponsored NWR racing car, and current points leader in the Atlantic Championship series, will be appearing at the Nuclear Energy Assembly on Monday. Car #34 and driver are scheduled to be at the Fairmont Hotel from 3:00 - 7:00 pm. Simona will be available for pictures, autographs, and advice on how best to drive the Chicago Loop .
