New Nuclear Plant for Utah?

There's talk about a possible new plant near Lake Powell. See the Political State Report for more.

UPDATE: And for those of you shaking your heads, yes, this is the same state of Utah that fought the licensing of PFS all the way to the Supreme Court.

Interesting.

The Northeastern New York Section of the American Nuclear Society (NENY ANS) is hosting a one-day symposium on Economics in the Nuclear Industry, Thursday, March 30, 2006 on the campus of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The symposium immediately precedes the national ANS Student Conference, which will be held at RPI from March 30, 2006 until April 1, 2006.

The symposium will bring together the economic and financial viewpoints from both the government agencies and the commercial nuclear industry. Speakers and panelists will discuss the economic benefits and challenges facing the nuclear industry.

The symposium promises to be exciting. I've attached a flyer with additional information, and if you or anyone you know might be interested in attending, you can either register through our webpage

Thanks for the link. You're another popular blog I've never heard of (not meant as a backhanded compliment).
