The Maryland Public Television's State Circle program aired a debate last Friday over building a third reactor at the Calvert Cliffs nuclear plant in southern Maryland. NEI's Mary Quillian Helms was interviewed along with Kevin Kamps from Beyond Nuclear. Check out the video.

I think that the end result of the alliance between Constellation and EDF will be a positive influence on building EPRs in the United States.

The anti nuclear representative in the interview points out that EDF has been having leaks occur in France. However, I still believe the international and political influence of having France behind these EPR projects in America will be positive. Operating experience from a utility with 58 reactors lends credibility to the partnership.

I am interested in how others view this alliance between EDF and Constellation.
