The Small Town Impact of Grid Reliability

In the wake of October's NERC report on grid reliability, the New York Times has a story in today's edition that explains how the condition of the nation's electric infrastructure affects the folks in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.

The solution is of course as easy as it is reasonable. Federalize the grid, put it under the control of a government corporation and let it take out a fee big enough to maintain and expand the grid.

That's the way it works in all other countries.
